What I Made Wednesday: Gold Accent Bowl DIY

Gold Accent Bowl

Found this weeks DIY through my sisters blog SimplyWorned. A cute accent bowl to use for anything such as loose jewelry or knick knacks. It doesn't take long to make and there is no limit as to how many you can make to decorate your humble abode!

Materials Needed:

  • Gold Spray Paint - I used Krylon Short Cuts. Purchased from Walmart for under $5.
  • Scotch Tape - Any kind.
  • A White Bowl - The bowl I used was ceramic (I think). I don't think glass would work as well.
  • Some sort of newspaper or tissue paper.

Make sure to lay out your paper on a flat service  enough  to cover your work area. Take your bowl and carefully put tape around the edges so that your paint won't drip over the edges of your bowl.

Begin to spray the inside of your bowl. Be careful not to spray too close as this will cause drip marks. Let the first coat dry and spray another coat to add a nice finish and cover up any missed places.

Once the second coat dries carefully remove the tape from around the edges of the bowl.

Place your bowl anywhere and fill it up with treasures!
