Lettuce Wraps

I can cook ok but I do not like to. So an easy recipe for me is like a binge marathon of Orange is the New Black. Amazing. I experimented for the first time with a recipe and I must say I did an excellent job. Well to me anyway. Try it for yourself and let me know what you think!

Ingredients:

Pack of ground beef
2- 1/4 tsp of Minced Garlic
1/4 cup of Hoisin Sauce
2 tbs of Soy Sauce
Salt
Pepper
Lemon Juice
Red Wine Vinegar
Carrots
Cilantro
Head of Lettuce

Directions:

1. Brown the ground beef with the minced garlic and drain immediately after.
2. Add soy sauce, hoisin sauce, a splash of lemon juice and red wine vinegar to beef and heat thoroughly on medium heat.
3. Once beef mixure is heated through add salt and pepper to taste as well as carrots and cilantro (or any other vegetables of your choosing). Heat for about five minutes.
4. Tear lettuce apart to form a lettuce taco. Place beef inside and enjoy!

*Just wanted to make a note that you can add so many types of vegetables if you like. I stuck with carrots and cilantro in case it didn't turn out so well. There are also different types of lettuce you can use but I use Iceberg Lettuce for this recipe.

Tuesday Treasures!

Things I'm loving right now...

I'm a sucker for a celebrity biography and Jennifer Lopez's book True Love was no exception. The book is based around her world tour and how she lost and then found herself again. Reminding us that celebrities are kinda just like us.

stylepantry is my new obsession and for good reason. It is impossible to not be in love with almost every outfit she post and it gives great inspiration for your own fashion adventures.

I have been wanting to throw a party for a while now but the food alone can be so expensive. This chart helps to purchase the amount of food depending on the amount of people. Perfect for soon to be spring get togethers!

I don't know what it is but I loved Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It's just a fun movie to watch and the characters are so different but still amazing in their own way. A little action here and comedy there makes for a great movie!

I don't know if sleep sounds are for everyone but they definitely help me fall asleep easier some nights. Rain, Rain is a free app that offers tons of sleep sounds with the option to purchase more. But it comes with so many you'll be set and sleeping peacefully.

Weekend Shenanigans | Bacon Doughnuts Do Exist

Desmond attempted to surprise me this weekend by planning a Saturday morning rendezvous at a doughnut shop in Richmond called Sugar Shack. I wasn't sure what to expect but I soon realized that this place could easily come in at second place as heaven on earth. First place being the dinner table at moms.

Cinnamon and sprinkle doughnuts your girl is used to. Maple glazed doughnuts with bacon crumbles are a new favorite. ALL of the doughnuts were delish of course. Dare I say they taste as if they were made with love ?

The Hot Cocoa was tasty as well and as the guy was making it he said, " I ran out of whipped cream. Do you want to wait for me to make some more?" Make some more? Hand made whipped cream? Oh yes you've made a regular of us.

Forever 21 sucked me in and made me spend a whole $18 worth but I will say I don't at all feel bad about it. Sale items were an extra 50% off and 50% is enough to make me bust out the tootsie roll while reaching for my wallet. The jeans are not my usual style but for 2.99 I can dress like I'm from the 80's for a day. And look good doing it. The shorts; my hope for an early spring, were only 5.99 and because you can never have enough black shirts I scooped up this one for $1.50. A few jewelry items sprinkled in there made for a fabulous  shopping experience.

Because I spend at least an hour a day on hip2save.com I came across a Panda Express deal where if you buy any item you get a single item for free. So naturally I had to use it, plus Desmond and I had never ventured into Panda Express before. We ordered online 2 hours before we picked it up which I think was awesome!

I wasn't sure how the sizes would be but let's just say a single size serving is really just enough for one person. Maybe even a newborn, not that I know how much a newborn eats saying as though I have never had one. But I imagine that portion wouldn't fill them up. We ordered extra noodles and rice thank goodness. It was good not the best Chinese I ever had. Sorry Panda Express Lovers of the world.

Overall it was a great weekend. Plus I am off tomorrow. Whoop Whoop! Redbox and DVR unite!

Until Next Time...

Tuesday Treasures!

Things I'm loving right now...

Reunion by Hannah Pittard was a different book than I would normally read but I really enjoyed it. It is a story about a family dealing with suicide, financial issues, and relationships and how one persons problems can effect everyone.

Green Mountain Naturals Hot Apple Cider for Keurig is one of my favorites for the winter months. It not only taste delicious but the company makes a ton of other flavors that include lemonade, pumpkin spice, and hot cocoa.

I know it can be hard to make goals and keep them but one of the easiest ways to stay in the game is by writing them down. This Goals Organizer Poster from The Nectar Collective is cute and easy to use, whether you are making goals for the day, week, month, or year.

I think I may have written about this show before but trust me it is worth two post. Brooklyn Nine-Nine is hilarious and the characters are people you want to be friends with in real life. Everyone is unique and funny in their own way meaning there is never a dull moment.

I LOVE entertainment and Entertainment Weekly gives me life! From books, to TV, movies, and everything in between it does not disappoint. There is a new issue every week so you never miss anything and you can get a free digital subscription with a print subscription which some magazines sadly do not offer.

Until Next Time...
